Tandoori Turkey

Since the girls are both out of town, we opted for a quiet, just the two of us, non cooking Thanksgiving. For dinner we went to our favourite Indian Restaurant, Guru Palace, for the buffet. The food was great, as usual, with an interesting addition. Instead of the usual tandoori chicken, they served tandoori turkey. And while I am not generally a tandoori fan, I just had to try it.

Interestingly, they chopped the turkey up in order to cook it in small enough pieces to serve on the buffet. Apparently, with a jig saw. There was no way to tell what the piece was when you put it on you plate, nor really what part of the bird it was, even when you dug into it. It was actually pretty good, and not the sort of thing one gets to try every day.

So, I got to have turkey fixed tandoori style, ate till I was extra full, and I didn’t have to cook, clean up, or store leftovers. Just that much more to be thankful for.
